THE RUSSIAN UPHEAVAL.

Support for the Gaverament,

London, Sept 12:

Kerensky

A Russian wireless message says that has issued the following statement:

"Superior officers everywhere are anting in agreement with the Government and the Committees at the front General Denikin, together with his headquarters staff, has been arrested, also General Erdelli who has broken the army's obedience. Several of General Erdelli's staff hare also been arrested. Only small detachments which General Korniloff, through deception, is leading to Petrograd remain deluded regarding the position. Their advance has been arrested. The bend between them has been broken and individual units have sent delegations to Petrograd request- ing the arrest of the commanders who have betrayed the Government. The Government is taking energetic measures to defend Petrograd, with the hope that bloodshed and civil war will be avoided. The Government is receiving evidence of the loyalty of the troops and people of all the provinces and public organisations have announced their determination to support the Goverment. It is essential for the safety of the Fatherland that complete unity of action should be preserved."
