* Shanghal War Funda.
The total of the gifts and subscriptions to the different French War funds for July 14 in Shangbai, amounted to nearly 50,000 francs, out of which 30,000 was subsoribed to buy two ambalances. Amongst the very generous donators special mention must be made of Mr. Kadoorie, who gave more then 20,000 francs.
A Remarkable Occurrence.. In the mountsinone district of Shidoo-kaken, Japan recently, s six year old girl was carried away by an eagle. The child's manufacturing parents were
charcoal at the time and the child was with them. A search was immediately instituted by in babitants of the villages in the vicinity but no trace of the child was found.
