Stories by Survivors of the Dover Castle.

Details of the attack upon the hospital ship Dover Castle (tor pedoed without warning in the Mediterranean) whilst carrying orer Bix hundred wounded- Holdiers, wars scoured recently from a few of the survivors who" have reached home.

"A load explosion occurred in ths after part of the ship... It fairly knocked me off my feet," -aid a survivor, "and it was rome time before I realised what had happened, for I was quita dased. When all the soldiers and the remainder of the crew had taken to the boats, it appeared probable that the vessel would not sink alter all. Although deep in the water she began to ride easily and the captain (Commander Wilber- ford) decided to return to the Birioken ship, in the hope that tugs would soon arrive and take her to port. His call for volunteers was eagerly answered, and a bostload of officers and crew re- turned to the Dover Castle, but, blore the tags arrived the sub- marine had returned.

Harry Vardon, J. E. Taylor, James Braid, and E.Bay took part in two exhibition golf matches Sidcup recently in aid of the Lord Kitchener Fund for Disabled Officers and Men.
