The Buth African Max, "Breeders," Gmwers" and Judges' Association has received from Mr. GF Jooste, Johannesburg, most generous offer for the pro- motion of the South African maizə industry. This takes the form of a gift of $1,000 per annum for thies years, to be expended by the Association in Any manner calculated to schieve that object, and it is understood that Mr. Jooste has expressed his willing- new to double the amount of his donation should the manner in which it is decided to apply it appeal to him as being likely to produce satisfactory results,
