Chinese Office Abolished in New

Zealand.

The Chinees Government has announced the abolition of its Consulate in New Zealand. The reason for the abolition is that the spares Chinese colony there does not warrant the existence of a Consaler Offics. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to appoint an 'Honorary Consul to look after Chinese interests there. This honorary officer will be given a monthly allowance to defray esperson which he may incur in connection with the affairs of the Chiasse residents in New Zealand.

Fatal Mine Accidents.
