SHARE REPORT.
Mesura, Benjamin and Potte, in their report of the 9th March, 1917, state:-
Our market opened again on the 5th instant, and during the wook a fair amount of business has been transacted. In the speculativs section shipping shares have again dropped several points. The sales made hava bean principally on Settlement account, and as soon arrangements have been made for that, we hope to see the market stendier. There has been very little doing in investment, stocks, which are on offer at reduced rates owing to the high rate of exchange bringing out more home sellers.
In Shanghai the improvement mentioned laat week has been maintained, and there has been more business passing, chiefly in Bab bars. There has been a good demand all the week for Shanghai Cottons, both nesh and forward, a considerable business having been done at Ts. 117. March. Ew have been placed ́st Tis. 140. Shanghai Docks have improved to a buying quotation of Tix. 82).
BANKS.Hongkong and Shanghai Banka are somewhat essier, and shares are on offer at $680,
