The Price of Paper. The Japan Paper Manufacturing Association has decided to raise the prices by five-rin to one sen from March. This advance is) limited to foreign paper alone.

A New Iron Mlue. Preparations are being com- plated for the opening of a new iron mine in close proximity to the Tangise shoat Thirty miles above Wubu by a joint Sino Japanese company, the capital being advanced by the Japanese on the understanding that the output of ore will be sold to Japan at a fixed price. A pilas from here was recently sent up to survey the river and sound with a view to constructing wharves in the river for the shipment of the ore.
