The Chinese Government has appointed several naval officers to attend to the-affairs relating to coat defenos. Special preoz30- tionary measures are being carried ont at the following forts: Taka in Chihli; Wooung. Hangui, Bangao, and Taisosad in Kianga: Liangean in Anhwei; Sinoguowan; in Ühekiangi and Humen in Kwangtang.
