Disabled German Frisoners In- Japan.
As already reported, the Japan.- een Government recently devided to send back to Germany, throngh |the United - States, 17 disabled German prisoners of war, and arrangements had been made 'so-" cordingly. Since then, however, diplomatic relations: between the w United States and Germany have been broken off, sad it bag become impossible for Japan to Icarry out its decision. German Interests to Chlaz... A report says that interested parties have made investigation■ ** into the German interests in the various parts of this country, and a brief estimate has been drawn P. According to the estimate, the total amount of German capital invested in various kinds of enter- prices in Chios aggregates $256,- 760,000, and there, are altogether 244 German companies, the num- ber of German residents being estimated at about 3,740 persons. Several minee have been opened by Germans, notably the coal mine in Fantas.and the iron mine in The northern Kinglingcheng. section of the Tientsia-Pakow Bailway and the Kispohow. Taizanta Bailway are also Ger. man enterprises, the two making a total milage of 869 miles.
