Mr. Ben Davies's Name Forged. London, Déc. 13.-At the Cen- tral Criminal Court yesterday, before the Reorder, Archibald Egles, 36, tator, was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment in the second division for forging and attering « obequa for £5. The oheque form came from a cheque- -book haionging to an Army officer, who had lost it.. The prisoner filled the form up for £5 and forged the name of Mr. Ben Davier, the singer, to it, and asked a friend to cash it. It was very clamby forgery, and it was urged on the prisoner's behalf that he was desperately ill at the time be did it and on the verge of starvation.
