Marine Engineer Elected Mayor. Councillor Richard Morrison, a retired Liverpool marine eng, ineer, has been elected Mayor of Southport. He is a native of Ever- ton, Liverpool, and served bin artioles as a marine engineer with Mesra, George Forrester and Co., Vauxhall Engineering Works, Afterwards he entered the service of Messrs. Lamport and Holt sa engineer, and remained with them for 35 years, for 20 of which be aoled sa chief superintendent engineer, retiring about 14 years! ago. For many years he acted az engineer assessor to the Local Marine Board for the port of Liverpool.

Chinese Sufferers in Mexico.

The Governments of various countries have provided means of relief for their nationals, but we have act yet done anything for our people there.
