"Tin Sickness."! According to travellere from Germany a remarkable disease" is spreading in many parts of the country, especially in Ber- lin, Hamburg, Munich, and Cologne, caused by the continuel feeding from preserved foods. The sickness is called "tin eick- xess.”. It is considered to be a very serions form of blood poisoning. There are thousands of cases re- ported in every large city in Germany, although the authorities exercise a vey strict control over the tins used for preserved food.
Impeachment of Chen Yi of Szechuan.
Peking, November 11.-A Szschau member has brought ap in Parliament a strong impeach- ment against Chen Yi, formerly Tachan of Szechuan, for alleged ́embezzlement of public fande at the time of his giving up office and also for alleged extortion of funds and supplies when en route to Hupsh from various districte. It is demanded that Chen Yi be handed over to the Jadioial Court and compelled to indem nify the sufferers,

Theft on Japanese Warship. On the morning of October 29 it was discovered that a safe in "the paymaster's office on board the battleship Yamashiro, which is now being fitted at Yokosuka, had been broken open and Y300 in cash stolen. The theft must have taken place between 10 o'clock on the night of the 28th and 5 the following morning. The hinges of the safe were found to have been out, apparently by s sharp saw. All shore leayo has been stopped and strict search is being made among the bice- jackets for the culprit.-Japan Chronicle.
