THE BOXING TOURNAMENT.

(To the Editor of the Hongkong Telegraph.)

Bir,—La reading over the com- ments in your paper of October 14, of the boxing held at the City Hall on the 13th. inst, I astice you inake pertico- lar reference to the P.e. Thomas Now, v. Pte. Pye contest.. in justice to Pte. Thomas, and without prejudice to Pie. Pre, Thomas was in no way to blare whatsoever for what had happen- ed. Never during the three useven rounde in which the con- teet listed did Pte. Thomas- transgress the rules.

The referee should have stop ped the uneven contest in the Becond round and awarded the. Pye'n contest to Thomas, or

weconda should have thrown in the towel as a signal of defeat. If anyone was to blams it was the referee.

Yours etc.

Alför this experience, I am inclined to sek whether the Brit. ish have a war newspaper for this class of men. If not, how, and by what meama, can these men be told that “We have the Ger- mans by the eara ? ".
