Professor Roberts goes on to say that from experince of a number of years it has been found that the average Field of American octionis greater than that of the native variety. In 1914 native cotton was selling at $1.24 fer the maund (82 pounds), while American brenght from $1.80 to 216 for a like quantity. The result has been that native colton te being pushed out of the market, and, although the ares under cultivation ia the Punjab has been reduced, the cotton yield has been increased by the use of the American ariety.
