A. committee of the Yokohams chamber of commerce has con- sidered the opening of a direct steamship line from Yokohsina to Taingian, the increase of bot toms on the European line, the improvement of a direct freight connection between Japan and Manchuria and other matters. It was decided to send a petition to the government for the immediate opening of a direct line from Yokohama to Taingian to carry the shipments of cotton from China to Japan.
