February 6, 12.35 a.m. A Rome communique, mys:-The enemy made two night. attacks in a thick fog on the Podgora Height, west of Gerits, and ons in Bagana Valley. All were repulsed with considerable enemy losses. Some prisoners were captured.

A correspondent of the British Press telegraphing from Bears on February 2, says: The rainy spell has passed and the mud is drying up. The relief force is in good condition and is now encamped. Apart from the weather being comparable to the worst in France in the winter of 1914, the troops bare suffered peculiar disabilities. In the flat country they were exposed to rifle fire at two thoceand yards when they, attacked, but now, owing to the recent halt, conditions are similar to those in France. Communica- tion trenches have been cat and the operations are at present confized to desultory sniping and artillery fire.

DYNAMITE PLOT AND FIRES.

Beater's correspondent at Montreal reports that a man has attempted to dynamite Victoria Bridge. He was fusilladed by the guards, but escaped. 3 message from 0.tawa states that a smali military uniforms factory has been destroyed by fire, which is believed to be of incendiary origin. A munitions factory at Hespeler, Ontario, is reported to be in flames.

Reater's correspondent at Washington states that the sole quest ion concerning the Appam is how long she is permitted to stay. The Treaty simply provides that Germany's prizes are entitled to come and go freely to and from American waters.
