A joint schedule for livers ran- ning between San Francisco, Yokohama, and Hodgkong bus heen arranged by the Toyo Kiseb Kaishs and the Oaks Sabsen Kisha The Osaka Stossa Kai- sen has decided to put two of it- vessels, the Panama Maru and the Settle Maru, on the Sea Fru- cisco ran, while two other shipe will be added to its Tacoma and Seattle in the Todzin Ms u and the Keishin Marn. The schedule agreement between the two companies will name the dates for the sailings of five Toyo Kaisen Kaisha ships, the Shinyo Maru, the Tenyo Maru, the Chiyo Mara, the Nippon Maru, and the Persia. Arrangements will be made later for the new liners that the T. K. K. expects to place on the San Francisco ran in the future. The Oaks Shoeen Kaisha ships on the new Hoe will make Honolulu a port of | call both ways. The OSK plane at first to have one ship leave Yokohama for San Franciscoevery month, and more ships may be added to the line later. Between Telephone No. San Francisco and Japan, their cargoes will consist largely of raw cotton. On the 0.S. K's Tacoma and Seattle line there will be the Canada Mara, the Tocoma Mara, the two new liners the Hawaii Maru and Manila Marn, the Todzan Maru and the Keishio Maru.

Coal, for instance, which in 1914 freighted at five shillinge per ton, has now risen to five times that quotation, with the result that Paris 1: called upon to pay cose on one hundred francs perl ton for fuel, and crying out no little under the burden.
