The above signals will, as herB- tofore be hoisted only when typhoons exist in such positions or are moving in such directions that information regarding them is considered to be of importance to the Colony or to shipping leaving the harbour.
URGENT SIGNALS.
In addition to the above, when it is expected that the wind may increase to fall typhoon force as any moment, the following Ur- gent Signals will be made at the Water Police Station, and re- pasted at the Harbour Office 2- THREE EXPLOSIVE BOMBS AT INTERVÄLS OF TEN SECONDS.- A Black Cross will be hoisted at the same time, superior to the other shapes.
