November 3, 7.25 p.m. The Lancashire cotton manufacturers have decided to advance weavers' wages by five per cent. from January, A quarter of a million people are affected.

November 3, 11.25 p.m. The five per cent, advance to the Lancashire cotton weavers ie the war bonus which the employers formerly refused on the ground of the state of trade. The operatives then decided to organise atrike in individual mille whiofi led the employers to reconsider the position. They to-day decided to grant the bonus, beginning January next and until thirteen weeks after pasos is declared.
