Messrs Wright and Hornby in their weakly share report state:

Our local market continues to rule aotive but there has been considerable difficulty in filling cash orders owing to holders of shares requiring higher than market rates. Docks Wharves and Shipping shares have been in good demand both for cash and for forward delivery.

Far Silver is quated at 24d per oz. for rendy,

Exchange on London oponed to-day at 1/9.15/18 T.T. On Shanghai opened to-day at 77 T.T.

Banks. There have been sales of Longkong and Shanghai Banks at $830 and more shares could be placed at the rate. Marine Insaranees-Unions after antes at $900 alov atsariy. Jinfoàs are firm at $427) with small enquiries for shares at this figure. Yangtezen have advanced from $248 to $250, ex. 73 buyere, and North Chinas from The, 173 to Tia. 175 buyera.
