The Grand Trank Pacific Rail- way's drydock and ita sarroand- ing plant, foundry, machine. shops, etc., is expected to be ready for business early in the Vancouver August says World of July 13. The Marine Transport Service Corporation's new shipping enter prins will shortly begin the operation of a line of steamers out of New York, plying between the Atlantic and North Pacific. ports via the Panama Canal. The ports of call on this coast will be Los Angeles, San Fran- oisco, Portland, Tacoma and Seattle. It is anticipated that British Columbia lumber will forma a considerable part of the return cargo of this line of vessels, and it is extremely probable that en-British Columbia ports will eventually be included in the scheduled porta of pall.
