The market for local investment securities continues firm with upward tendency, but the demand for the more speculative descrip tions has essed off considerably, especially for time delivery, whilst the undertons for cash eberes is firm.
Bar Silver is quoted at 22.7/16 per oz. for ready.
Exchange on London opened to-day at 1/8 T.T."
Banks-Hongkong and Shanghai Banks are in general demand and shares have changed hands in small lote at $830, plosing with buyers at the rate.
Marine Insurances Unions have advanced from 1925 to $930 cales and buyers, Cantons are wanted at $375 but there are no shares offering even at an advance on this price. North Chinas are quoted from the North at Tia. 1691 and Yangtazes at 1240 px 73.
Fire Insurances China Fires have been placed at $155 clong with buyers at 31673. Hongkong Fires have buyers of $400-after sales at $398 and at $399,
