Fuel Oil for Bosts at Panama.

The arrangements for furnish- ing fuel oil to vessela at the two entrenose to the Panama Canal have been brought to a state which is ample for the présent demanda, and will be extended as cocasion arises. Oil is sold by both the Gov- ernment and private corporations. By the end of March the storage capacity for fuel oil at Balboa, which is the principal point of loading, was designed for 220, 1000 barrels, and 37,000 barrals of 000-barrel tanks belonging to the Diesel engine ail, held in two 42; Panama Canal, three 37,000 barrel tanke of the Union Oil Company of California and one 25,000-bstral tank of the Panama Agencies Company, The Diesel engine oji is handled by the Union Oil Com pany, using 37,000 barrel storage tank; this company is also selling fuel oil. The Roxapa Petroleum Company expects to complete two 55,000-barrel tanks within the next three months": All of the above tanks are côn- nected with the Government oil orib, through the handling plant of the Panama Canal. The depth. of water along the crib ie 45 feet at mean tide. Plans have been approved for the building of two additional cribs as soon as the necessity for them develops. Under the present arrangement fuel oil can be delivered to vessels at any rate up to approximately 2:00 barrels per hour. The fuel oil storage capacity at Cristobal at present in 195,000 bar role, using 42,000-barrel tanks of the Panama Canal and three 37000-barrel tanke belonging to the Union Oil Company of Cali sold at the Atlantic entranos at formis. Diesel engine oil is not this time. The Union Oil Com- oil basiness at the Atlantic ter pany has withdrawn from the minal and is arranging to dispose of its tanke on that side of the Isthmus to one of the several companies which expect to engage in the businere of supplying faol oil to shipping at the Atlantio
