One of the commonest of their tricks is that in which, at regular intervals, detachments raise their bands in token of surrender, and then suddenly fall flat, unmasking denee Japan via Moji-KUMSANO 9th July lines of sharp-shooters. The communique adds grimly-This will. henceforth have little effect. Notwithstanding the difficulties, the Italian commanders and troops are determined to attain their objec tives, regardless of cost. MR. MORGAN'S ASSAILANT FOUND DEAD.
July 7. 6.40 p.m. Reater's correspondent in New York sage that Holt, the assail ant of Mr. J. P. Morgan, has been found dead in his cell, apparently having committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver! July 7, 1.10 p.m.
A great mystery surrounds the death of" Ho't. A dootor ba cortified that the skull was fractured, but there was no evidence of the explosion of a ballet. Of the cofeting versions the meat probable is that when the call-door was open for a moment, Holt rashed out and jumped from a window 50 It, from the ground. Portions of Holt's great store of dynamite are cropping up at dif- ferent places. A trunk containing 134 aticka of dydrmite, with fase, has arrived at a New York storehouse. Hult confessed that there were others at various points of Long Island.
July 7, 110 p.m.
Benter's Washington correat on lent says that Sir C. Spring Ries (British Ambassador) had a prolonged confereres with the Seare:ary of State Mr. Lansing, and recounted the ahco ing of Mr. Morgan, whose assailant the Minister aided to disarm.
