In connection with the oppor-kong& S'hai Banking Corp. tunity which now offers of making some headway with the Indian manufacture of glass he has thought it worth while tost down some of his experiences and state his opinion es to what could be done in India at the present jane ture. It may be stated that the account of bis travels in Europe is sa interesting as his conclusions in regard to the outlook for the manufacture of the lower grades of glaca in India are optimistic. The first baphazard discovery of the possibilities of glase manufac ture by Phoenicians cp the beach was not more romantic than the development of the processes, the Eecrets of which descend from father to son to day, and which underlie the success of the great Bohemian glass indtry. Mr. Oortel'e optimism based on prac tical experience it. Rejtur is, however, at the present moment the important matter.
