The Silk Market. Since the commencement of the silk season on July 1st, 1914, up to the 30th ultimo, the shipments of raw silk from Yokohama. amounted to 134,331 bales, com- prising 21.252 balea for "Europe and 112,070 balea for the United Statee. Compared with the re- (urpa for the corresponding period of the preceding year, the figures. for Europe showed a decrease of 30,850 bales and those for the United States 12,430 bales. The Camphor Market.

The camphor market is at pre- Bent active, 'Shipments from Kobe during the first four months of this year are valued Y.1,047,000. These figui es show an increase of Y.235,043 aв com- pared with the corresponding period of last year. "quotations are showing an up- ward tendency, the price of oxyetalliced camphor having risen from Y.00 to Y.64 and of liquid o:mphor to Y.68.

An Indigo Revival.

It may be premature to assume, saya the Financier, that the ex- olusion of German dyes induco a great and permanent revival of the natural indigo: industry in British India, but it is certain that the war is increas- ing cur imports. In the thirteen weeks ended April 3, according to Messrs. Paraons and Keith's statistice, the import from the East Indies was more than twenty- six times as great as in the cor- responding period last year, and the deliveries alowed almost a five fold increase. There were also larger receipta from Guate male, but the deliveries were actually less than in the first thirteen weeks of 1014.
