The trawler Lilydale has been submviced off Grimsby. The ores were picked up by a patrol boat, which obased the submarine, The Admiralty, is their announcement, state that disembarka-firing fifty shots. The submarine ont-distanced the patrol-boat, but tion began before sunrise on April 25 on eix different beaches, it is believed the former was damaged. The operation was covered by the whole Fleet. The landing was immediately anccessful on five of the beaches, although the troops were vigorously opposed by the strongly entrenched enemy in enccessive lines, protected by barbed wire entanglements, some fifty yarda wide, and supported by artillery.

On the sixth beach, pear Seddal Bahr, the troops were unable to advance until the evening, when a fine attack by the British infan- try from the direction of Cape Tekeh relieved the pressure on their froat,

Progress on the Peninsula.

The American steamer Cushing was titacked in the North Sea on Wednesday by German sirmen, although the name of the ship as painted in six-foot letters. Two bomb were dropped, but no demage resulted.
