There has been a good general demand throughout the week and a considerable business has been transacted for cash and for-.

Bar Silver is quoted at 234 per oz. for ready,
Exchange on London opened to-day at 1/91 T.T.
Banke,-Hongkong and Shanghai Banka are still on offer at $800.
Marine Insurances.—Cantons have sold at $380 and more shares are obtainable at this figure, North Chinas era quoted from the North at Tls, 1894rd, and Yangtzea at 8220 ex. 73. Unions have been the medium of a fair business at $8551d closing with buyers at the rate.
Fire Insurances-China Fires have changed hands at $1274 and $180 closing with buyers at the former figure and sellers at the latter. Hongkong Fires are wanted at $385
Shipping:-China and Manilas have buyers at 65 and sellors at $54. Dongleses have advanced from $39 to $12 with Balea at intermediate rates. Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steambosts are in demand at $22.1/2, sellera asking $23. Indo Chiass have declined from $100 to $98 buyers. Shell Transports have risen in London to 93/6 buyers and 98/6 sellers. Sales have taken place locally at

Dooks, Wharves and Godowns. There are still buyers of Kowloon Wharves at $65, and Hongkong and Whampoa Dooks at 857, hanghai Dooks have been placed at Tis. 53, and Hongkew Wharves are unchanged at Tis, 85 buyers.
