[Reuter's Service to The "Telegraph."} French Expeditionary Force in Readiness.

March 7, 2.35 a.m. Reuter's correspondent at Paris says that the Ministry of War Announce that, in view of the situation in the Dardanelles, they have decided to concentrate an expeditionary force in North Afries, to be in readiness to embark at a moment's notice and to proceed wherever required.

Admiral Carden's Despatch from the Dardanelles.

March 6, 9.35 p.m. According to the Press Bureau, a despatch from Admiral Carden Bays that the bombardment of the Dardanelles was continued on March 3. During the subsequent days, battleships and sea-planes were active, despite the unfavourable weather; but on Thursday mine-sweeping steadily progressed. Lunding parties continued the clearance of the entrance and had skirmishes with the enemy. The British casualties were: 16 killed, 3 missing and 25 wounded. The Queen Elizabeth, on Friday, began to attack the narrows, by an indirect fire, supportad by the Inflexible and the Prince George. Satisfactory results ware obtained against three forte.

Sir Richard Peirse arrives at Smyrna.

Vice Admiral Sir Richard Peirse, commander-in-chief of the East Indies station, has arrived at Smyrnu. A squadron of battle- ahipa and cruisers methodically bombarded Fort Yonickale for two hours, inflicting considerable damage. A bombardment at closer rango has now begun in favourable weather.
