Messrs. Wright and Hornby, in their shere report dated February 26, state :—

There has been a good general demand for shares throughout the week, but business lias been restricted, owing to the local Race Holidays. All Shanghai Cotton Mill shares are in strong demand at considerably improved prices.

Bar Silver is quoted at 22.7/8 por oz. ready.

Exchange on London opened to-day at 1/9) TIT. --

BankeHoogkong and Shanghai Banke have improved from $810 bayers oum diz. to $800 buyers ex. div. and at the latter figure

a good number of shares have changed hands.

Marine Insurances-Cantons are wanted at $355, North Ohines at Tis. 160, Unions at $830, and Yangtezes at $225 ex. 73, Fire Insurance.China Fires are still obtainable at $150, and Hongkong Fires are in strong demand at $395.

Shipping China and Manilae have advanced from $8 to $8) salea and buyers. Douglases at $29, and Star Ferries at $37 ore obtainable at quotations. Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboats have further appreciated from $22 to $24 and at the latter figure a fair business has been done, closing firm. Shell Transports have changed handa at 87/6. Indo-Chinas have been booked at $70, $72, $73 and $76, closing with buyers at the latter figure.

Docks, Wharves and Godowns-Hongkong and Whampoa Dooks have sellers at $57. Kowloon Wharves have been booked at 989 and there are farther buyers at the rate. Shanghai Dooke aro quoted from Shanghai at Tle. 52 buyers and Hongkow Wharves at, Tla, 92.1/2 buyer,”
