ARMY TERMS EXPLAINED. Army corps is a complete army on a small scale in itself. The

atrength varies from 35,000 to 45,000 men.

Division is a force of infantry, cavalry, and artillery, usually with a strength of from 15,000 to 20,000 men.

Brigade is a force of infaétry or Cavalry. The infantry brigade is from 4,000 to 7,000 strong. The cavalry brigade is from 1,000 to 2,000 strong. Regiment of infantry is from

2,000 to 4,000 strong. A cavalry regiment is from 500 to-1,000 men strong. Squadron of cavalry is from 150

to 200 man strong. Battery of artillery in the British and French armies has 6 guns and abous 200 men. In the German Army consists of 4 guns and, 150 men. In the Russian Army it consists of 8 gune and 250 men.
