European's Death at Woosung.

Early in the morning of Christmas Day, Mr. W. H. Wood. bridge, a young man who recent- ly came out to Shanghai from Manchester as a machinery expert, was found shot through the head, outside Woosang forts. He had been missing from Shangbai since December 7. A five chambered revolver was found near the body and there was a ballet wound in the right temple. Dr. Bennett saw the body almost immediately after it had been discovered and telephoned to Shanghai, and it was conveyed to the mortusgy during the day. It was known that Mr. Woodbridge had had financial difficulties, but he ap peared to view them far more seriously than he need have done. Three weeks ago a judgment Emmons was entered against him in the Shanghai Supreme Court for a omparatively small sum, bat the deceased failed to answer, and open a warrant being issued the Police were unable to bod

him in Shanghai. The deceased

was a promising young man, and
