General Managers,
No reports have reached Manila teiling of damage on land and it ie believed that the only loss is confined to the shipping. The latest weather report states that' the typhoon of November 28" was approaching the southern part of Indo-Uhina, moving westward. A cablegram was received by the Insular Customs Collector from the Collector at Ceba, It read as follows:-"Typhoon of Thursday morning did slight damage, Launch Penelope blown on end of new wharf and sunk. Launches Des Moines and Penelope slightly went sahore but was refloated. No damaged. Quartermaster's launch
damage done. No lives reported lost." Mr. Rafael Yachausti stated. that word had been received that the steamer Mayon was a total lose. The Mayon has been in com- mission for the last 25 years and was of 100 tons burden. She ran between Iloiloand Dumaguete with stops at San Carlos, Gajala- gon, Tayagan and Bais. No lives were lost but all cargo went down when the vessel slid from the rooks into deep water. The vessel was not insured. It is not known whether any other inter- island vessels were lostorseriously damaged but the fact that word was received up to the 28th is taken to mean that all other vessels ore safe. Postal officiala stated that no damage was dons to the cable or telegraph service, excepting a slight difficulty in transmission. By noon, however, the wires were working as well
