Claim Against a Hotel. In the British Supreme Court, Shanghai, last week, Miss Soar brook made a claim against Bickerton's Ital for the rotati of a barrel of Chinaware valued at $100. Answering the Court, Mr. Bicktron said he bad the borrel in his possess on and was. keeping it under an order of the American Court. The barrel was taken to the hotel by J. B. Melton with his luggage as it only bore bis name. Judgment bad been given against Melton in the US. Court on a claim by the hotel and the debt had not yet been met lie Lerlehip said defendant had no auto ity to keep the barrel.
