Radium Ore.
With the prominence given to the subject of radium, some in- terest attached to a brief report by Mr. Edgar T. Wherry, de scribing a deposit of carpotite near Mauch Chunk, Pa., publish. ed na Bulletin 550.II of the Un ited States Geological Survey. Carnotite is one of the radium. bearing minerale, and this deposit is believed to have been formed by precipitation from the ground water, and can now be seen in process of formation where water trickles out through cracks in the rocks.
