sobriquet of the · Hybrid” is a combination of the coaster, and

river bost, the high decke of the latter ending at the bridge which is further aft than the usual riverboat position and the fore»/^ deck being constructed like an ordinary coaster, there being two spacious batches with a heavy foremant carrying strong derricks and served by winches of the. ordinary heavy type found on coast ships.

The vessel is very strongly constructed, with heavy teak wood deaks and would doubtless be of as much use in the outside trades as she will be on the river, Her dimensione are: Length (0) 331ft., breadth, moulded: 46ft.

She is propelled by two sets of triple expansion engines of the builder's make capable of deve loping 1,800 H. P. steam being supplied by two cylindrical boilers working under. forced draught on the heated air, closed ashpit system, the steam used being superheated by Sohmidt's system. Business Dull.
