The Political Outlook.
Evente are fast coming to a hond in connection with the Irish question, and there appears every prospect that the G. vernment will soon make its appeal to the country. There is general agree- ment that an election cannot be postponed longer than June or July, and it also appears to be the belief that before this time the Home Rule and other Bills will be forced through by means of the Parliament Act. It would certainly be a more honour- able course, if the Government first made ite appeal; then it would be definitely settled whe- ther or not the people favour the Bill over which all the controversy has arisen. Especially so since Mr. Bonar Law has now openly. declared that if the people ere in favour of the measure he will not he responsible for encouraging resistance thereto. That is a fair | attitude, and it deserves to be met
