The O.M. river steamer Kiang-. wah, which has been ashore since February 23 near Hen Point, was refloated on March 11 god came on to Shanghai where it was found that she had sustained no damage. During the time she was ashore the water fell 4ft. 6in. and nothing could be done antil it commenced to rise again when a bower anchor with 30 fathoms of obait was laid out and she have off the bank.
Chinese Troops
The O.M. iosmer Yushun, which arrived at Shanghai March 14, brought up from Amoy 600 Northern troops who were taken to Hankow by one of the Company's steamers to assist in he operations against White Wolf
Nagasaki Harbour. The Nagasaki Harb ur Inves- tigation Committee has had under consideration five plans for the harbour. A pier for the use of large merchant steamers was the principal feature of one and a wharf that of the other. Each of the other plans included the con- struction of either a wharf or a pier. The expense in each case was between yan 600,000 and yen 800,000. The committee also considered methods of moor- ing passenger utsamers and of bandling cargo.
