FOOTBALL. Hongkong F.Cv. H.M.S. Minotaur. In the first round of the shield competition, at Happy Valle on Saturday, the Hongkong Club met H.M.8. Minotaur, but could do no better than effect draw, no goals being scored. The play was not of a high order, neither net of forwards being able to show convinoing form. In contrast to this, the defence on both side showed sterling qualities and were seldom in any difficulty, There was a regrettable lack of combination all through, and if either team wishes to enter the second round, the forwarde will have to do much better than they did on Saturday. Towards the end play livenod up comewhat, but neither side could penetrate.
