The Twingone. : The oil steamer Twingone, on which a serious fire occurred in Tuticorin harbour, was ou Ju nuary 22 taken in tow by the Olan Cameron for Bombay. A large quantity of good oil has been landed, and about two hundred' tons remain on board. To make up the deficienoy in stability two hundred tons of ballast had to be bipped. Temporary repairs were effected at Tuticorin to enable the vessel to be towed to Bombay.

Proposed New Harbours, The Town Council of Eyemouth have submitted to the ratepayers proposal that the rates should bo pledged to the extent of £5,000 As a guarantee for a portion of the cost of a new deep-water basin outside the present tidal Earbour. The cost is estimated at £60,000, Of this the Development Commis stoners will be asked to give £20,000 as a grant, £20,000 as a loan free of interest, and £20,000) as a loan with interest, while it

No details are yet to hand, but it appears that Mr. Pauw was mordered by coolien last Tuesday. The intimation was cabled to Singapore by Mr. Pauw, who before her marriage was Miss Ethel Darke, daughter of the late Captain Darke of Singapore.
