Five Vessels Ashore,

The Japanese oraleer Suzayo, 'ate Russian cruiser Nevik, which had been owed to Oraka" to be broken up, broke from her noorings on January 7 and col- lided with a steamer, two sailing ships and a launch that were lying in barbour, sweeping them from their mooringe. All fire vessels drifted asboro at the ses wall and sustained considerable lamage, one sailing ship and the launch foundering..

Big Repair Job,'

After undergoing temporary epairs, the Japanese steamer Shokika Mara, which was aban-. loped on fire in the Gulf of Pechili, left Dairen for Osaka where repairs will be completed t an estimated cost of 40,000 yen. The owner of the steamer is reported to have made a claim against the China Merchants' N.Co for 70,000 yen for damage sustained by the vessel from the company's steamer Irene.
