Labour Indiscipline, One of the most remarkable le tures of recent labour troubleë is the growing disinclination of the men to follow the advice of their leaders or to bow to the decision of the unions in deter mining, tarma of settlement. In this respect the Dublin strike should have been a libéral educa tion to the labour world, and, supplemented as it was, by the diamal failure of indiscipline in South Wales, should have convino- ed the men that nothing can be gained by warring on themselves and on their leadera. Trades Unionism was once famous for ita cohesiveness and solidarity and it is far from being a trivial matter that there should be spread- ing through the ranks a spirit of intractability and indiscipline. Indeed it requires but little con- sideration to see that trade union indiscipline is a twoedged weapon whose employment must even- tually, be fatal to trade unionism itself. But when there is dissen- sion also between the leaders themselves, the outlook is well- high hopeless.
