m morning, a afternoon.
I did not give any benefit whatever to the employer, but during sickness it did give the benefit expressly for the exi ployee. Under there circum- tances the employer was not en- titled to mrke any deduction as in this case, and the workman must succeed. He, therefore, gave judgment for the amount Icaimed, and costs.
Railway Accidents. Statistics recently published go 'a show that the number of per- sn killeland injured by railway accidents: is steadily decreasing. From 1835 to 1875, French railway companies carried 1,781,403,087 passengers, ef wh m 331 were killed and 3,487 rjured, or proportion of 10 kil'ef and 175 injured in every nadred millo from 1885 fo 1894 the proportions were 3.4 and 70 re pectively, while in 1900 they had fallen to 1.63 and 57. It is a remarkable fact that more people are killed every year by street accidente in Fairs than on all the French railway lines put together.
