Stranding of a Steamer, A Court of Inquiry was held at Calcutta port office into the cir- cumstances attending the stean- ding of the steamer Ooloɑberia on September 26 last near the Man- dulille light. After recording the ovidence of the master and the officers, the president delivered the following judgment, in which the remainder of the court con. -ourred: The vessel was failing from Pasman, Java, to Samarang, Bnother port in the rame island. The chief officer, Mr. E. W. T. West, was navigating the ship the time and he had taken over charge from the third officer at midnight. The vessel · grounded abont 1.25 a.m. No damage was done.
