The stolen Piatarricho picture of the Madonna and Child, in con- Dedtion with which arrests have been made in Florence, has been handed over to the Italian Consul General in London. It was trac- ad to the Continental baggage department at Charing Cross, and was given up by the South Eastern and Chatham Railway Company voluntarily after con- sultation with the Consulato. The picture is valued at £10,000 It was conveyed from Florence to London in the false bottom of a passenger trunk. The suspicions. of the Customs House officials "were raised by the appearance of the trunk, and on closer examina tion they discovered the picture.
