It does not, matter what my enemies may accuse me of; in all my life I have been on the side of law and order, and I have never inquired whether those twin in- stitutions were white or yellow. Decency is like gold, the same in all countries:
COMMERCIAL.
Bullion.
Menara Mocsits and Goldsmidt's weekly circular dated London, October 24, states that "the price of silver, which had remained steady for so long at about 281d,, continued to do so until the 23rd. instant, when on some heavy selling both from India and China there was a drop from 28.3-16d, to 27:13-16d. per oz. Std. This selling was no doubt the reflection of financial trouble in Bombay where they have had two days of panic in the mill share market, and general uneasiness is said to prevail. The lower rates have however, brought in buyers, and the tendency, though still uncer tain, seems a little steadier, to day's cash price being 2740. The shipments this week to India are about 6400,000 most of which ta said to be for the Government and the stook in London is now reduced to about #1,500,000,” -
