Arising out of the Titanie dis sater, the report of the Merchant Shipping Advisory Committee respecting the Statutory Re gulations as to boats and life- saving appliances and other means of ensuring safety of life at sea. was issued on the 24th July of last year. This inquiry was taken in hand by the Her chant Shipping Advisory Com mittes at the special request of the Board of Trade and in deal ing with the special points in relation thereto the Committed appointed five Sub-Committee. with additional advice from out- eide sources which were known as follows:-1, Type of Oper Life Boats Sub-Committee;: 2 Wireless Telegraphy Sub-Com mittes: 3, Steamship Routes Sab Committee; 4, Home Trade Pea senger Ships Sub-Committee; 5. Statistical Information Sub-Coin- mittes. The reports of these five Sub-Committees were attached to, sad formed part of, the General Report. This torrible Volturno affair has awakened my memory. the Merchant Shipping Advisory I have referred to the report of Committee with a view to looking up the Reservation to the report of the representative of the Guild on the Committee-Captain G: N.
