Egyptian Cotton Crop. The report of the Agricultural Department, on the present con- dition of the cofion erop is of a satisfactory nature. Lower Egypt cotton is 5 per cent. above the average, while that Upper of Egypt is 3 per cent over the avor age. The orop is in excellent condition, and has not suffered from scarcity of water, with the exception of small areas at the' teil ends of the canals. The hot weather experienced from the 7th to 15th of July almost brought it to its normal condition for the time.of All the provinces are practially free from the cotton worm, with the exception of Bo. hairs, where the worms and egg masses are still being found, and energetic mes ares are being tak- en to prevent demigo to the orop.
