CHARGED.
Fined for Assault on a Pupil.
At the Police Court to-day
■ boy aged 14, summoned a schoolmaster, for common assault by striking him on the head with his hand, also by striking the complainant in the side with his fiat, seizing the complainant and throwing him to the ground.
Mr C. F. Mason, of Messrs Wilkinson and Grist prosecuted, Mr Mason said this case of Burauli presented somewhat unusual features. The defend. ant was a schoolmaster with a large glass of boys to teach and" he had exceeded his authority and had far from conducted himself as a schoolmaster should.
He had been guilty of gross amault upon his client. It was certainly admitted that a school- master had a right to give a certain amount of correction to

Evidence bearing out Mr. Mason's statement was given,
