At the annual meeting of the Sungei Way Rabber Company at Glasgow, Mr. Thomas. Christie,, who presided, said the Govern of the Federated-Malay States still ignored the need for a first- rate port on the western side and, with railway and roads in need of much expenditure, could only get rid of the their excessive funds by buying a Singapore railway and paying for a Dreadnought. The principle of Great Britain taking from a dependency which was absolutely under the thumb of the Colonial Office more than £2,100. 000 was quite wrong, and was not right because it wore a
